Artist's Comments

This illustration was done in oil paint. As a child I was usually more afraid of being sucked into the swirling vortex of horror underneath my bed rather than being eaten by some monster hiding beneath the bed. This picture of it is way too dark and you can't see them, but there are some shadows of monsters on the walls. One of these days I think I'll do a very large version of this, give it more detail.

Actually, I noticed the shadows. This is a chilling piece. I would have liked to see the detail on the girls face, though. Of course given the small size it would have been hard. If you do that large version, be sure to give a lot of attention to her facial expression.

Wow, that's gorgeous! Very Tim Burton-esque. ^^ I agree though, the only critique I can provide you with is that it would be great to see the girl's facial expression to see what she's feeling (fear, I assume). :)

Wow... it's as if you made this of me, it really matches one of my old memories, except that my white walls were grey, just dead grey.. Everything was swirling in.. Amazing job!
